The need for goofiness, the tension between adult expectations and our kids' developmental age, and other musings prompted by a visit to my son's school.
Great read. I can attest to the public school shenanigans having raised two sons. Boys especially need to burn off steam in order to concentrate. Keep up the good work and make sure to say no to ADHD drugs if some Jack ass school counselor tells you Ace needs assistance.
Thank you, Stan! I couldn't agree more. That's why so many distractible, hyperactive boys turn into awesome innovators and leaders when they grow up. I appreciate you reading and commenting!
Funny you say that. My youngest was supposedly ADHD but because of my healthcare background I knew the top child psych in town. Had him evaluated. And as I expected, the doctor said “he’s just bored”. Now he’s a gene biologist performing sorghum transformation to feed the world.
Haha! Good for you! I’ve heard so many similar stories. We want to pretend kids and the world are systematizable. That’s rarely the case- which is a good thing!
