Rainy days were my favorite in school. It made walking to school so fun. No umbrella, no jacket, romping in puddles the whole way. No only will they not melt but you're keeping them from one of the best parts of childhood. Even as an adult today, everyone should jump inore puddles!

I knew your love of rain had to have been ingrained at an early age. There is something playful and almost devious about going out in the rain. Really rainy days are a bit chaotic and they require a bit of adaptation and improvisation. Matthew Crawford needs to write something on this. Going out in the rain is kind of like going into a sports competition or a fun game. It can be a tad uncomfortable to go out and start, but once you're in it, you've gained access to a level of fun and presence that is hard to duplicate.

It feels like a different universe where the normal rules don't apply. Once you stop caring about being wet, you are free to enjoy all the activities and sensations that were off limits just moments before. What other things are like that? Mud fights. Food fights. Might be a bit extreme, but they are almost an altered state of consciousness. I need more of these in my life.

Total flow! That's it. Anything that takes you out of self or time-consciousness and totally absorbs you. Where you are present and no longer in dialogue with yourself.
